Death by shooting. The photographic paper becomes evidence.The printed image appears before me,smelling strongly as though it were some kind of raw food.If the axls of time in this world also exists in the photograph,then I am completedly out of range and trying to escape from the floating and ungraspable uncertainty that is the "present"; I'm desperately trying to get a grip on the axls that really exist.
Confronting the inevitablility of my ouw death and the passage of time,the act of creating frozen time resembles that of prayer,and so my images are lmbued with strong emotions and desires that respond of my self-confrontation.
When taking photographs,I set up scenarios that will bring out the coincidental within the image,and allowing myself to lose control of the vision that I consclously hold in my mind,I wait for the unforeseeable results that will be captured by the camera.If "shooting" photographs is like on act of killing,then it is also as though I am being shot,and time is revived through this act.Together with that,the creative process disappears like a form of memory loss,and as though a defection to the other side is taking place,the events depicted on the photo paper slowly replace the memories in my mind.
I already see the image before I even encounter and photograph the people or the scenerise depicted.The time that exists before the act of taking the photograph "shoots" me-me who is out of range-and it is revived.The body is the empty vessel and the medium through which images pass.What's memory?These people and sceneries have been sacrificed by the photograph.Look at what they have offered to that world.
